Unable to recognize VB application

Hi,

I have a VB application. QTP is unable to recognize the objects in this application. It is showing as a WinObject for a WinEdit object. I need immediate help.

Hi Anushka,

1.Please check whether u have selected VB Addin in addin manager window & login into QTP.

2.In "Record & Run Settings", check whether u have selected "Record or run on any Opened windows based appl" radio button-->Apply--Ok. then close ur vb application & login again into ur application.

Just check it out ,it can be done easily.

Thanks for your reply. I tried whatever you told me but it is still not working. The version of QTP im using is having an inbuilt vb addin. I have enabled it too. And i made changes in the Record and Run settings.

What I cant understand is that it is able to recognize any other windows tool and identifies its objects as winButton or winEdit. But when it comes to my application, everything in it is identified as winObject.

Please reply if you have a solution to this problem.

Please check with the developers about the technology your application is built in. It is always possible that they are using some custom 3rd party controls(not supported by QTP) in the VB application.
