There is no official word from HP yet.
In future please check the Windows and QTP compatibility matrix.

Ankur,
My question is bit different but looks like it is in the above mentioned context.... Do you have any idea about Automated QA TestComplete ? I have used TestComplete more than QTP. Now comparison is really staying on my mind... I think that TestComplete provides all features and also easy to learn.... Following is ... TestComplete at Glance..... Feature TestComplete Support "Applications and Platforms" > C#, Visual Basic .NET, VCL .NET and any other .NET application for any version of .NET Framework (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5) > BOW applications (.NET Framework 3+) > Java (Swing, SWT, AWT and WFC applications) > Visual C++ 6.0—9.0 applications (including ATL, MFC and WTL applications) Visual Basic 6.0 > Delphi (VCL, CLX), C++Builder and CodeGear RAD Studio 2009 applications > Windows Mobile applications > Qt applications > wxWidgets applications " Operating Systems Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008, including both 32 and 64-bit versions of these operating systems Windows Mobile applications running on PDA’s Windows Mobile 2003 (Pocket PC 2003) Windows Mobile 2003 SE (Pocket PC 2003 SE) Windows Mobile 5.0 Windows Mobile 6.0." Software Testing Types "•Functional (user interface) tests •Unit tests •Regression tests •White-box tests •Data-driven tests •Keyword tests •Load, stress and scalability tests •Distributed tests •Coverage tests •Manual tests " //Automation Testing with Scripting Languages supported VBScript, JScript, DelphiScript, C++Script and C#Script // Automated Tests without Programming / Scripting" Keyword Driven Test, Recording // Test Data Sources Text and XML files, Excel worksheets Databases like SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL" //Multi-Language Applications TestComplete supports Unicode and, therefore, it is possible to test multi-language software with it //Test Results and reporting Test log that contains warning, error or informative messages as well as files and images //Technical Support "Good Technical support available through SQAForums. Automated QA people are members of the forum" //License Cost "Standard : 999 $ Per named user License Enterprise : 1999 $ Per named user License" License cost is the important parameter as it is one third of the QTP .... So the question goes how to propose a automation tool to client and convince out of the above two tools ?

@Subodh: I have heard some good things about Test Complete. To propose an automation tool, the best way would be to carry out a quick feasibility analysis, which will help you to rule out any object identification issues.
In case both are equally compatible, get the tool your team is comfortable working with. Ultimately the learning curve shouldn't be v steep. Hope it helps!

I do not know about qtp 9.2 but QTP 10 is working fine so far on Windows 7.
I have been using it for the past 3 months. |
