Hi,

Web services are- Web service is defined by the W3C as "a software system designed to support interoperable machine-to-machine interaction over a network". Web services are frequently just Web application programming interfaces (API) that can be accessed over a network, such as the Internet, and executed on a remote system hosting the requested services.

On installing Web services add- in QTP gives very good keyword-driven testing on web services. After you add a WebService test object to your object repository, you can access all of the operations that the Web service supports from the Operation column of the Keyword View. by installing the add- in you can directly access and test web services.

For testing ASP and C, C++ application ".net" and "Java" add- ins are sufficient apart form the defualt add- ins.
