recording pop up web application

Hi

I am new to the QTP. in our company, they told me to practice with QTP. when i was running one web application it did not recorded. it's java web application. I put here what I did.

1) open qtp and set run time setting
( browser was IE and enter my application URL)

2) start recording

when it start it open web application in full screen, user name and password are hard coded. then I press enter button to enter to the system. but it didn't go to the system. still in home page.

my question is why is that?

web application is pop up application..

please help me to solve this problem. thanks

What do you mean by pop-up application?

Hi,

when run the URL, web browser screen shows "If pop-up blocked, Click here to login" then click it then application shows in full screen.

with out pop up thing please tell me what is the problem for my question. Is it application problem or want to configure QTP?

but it does not have what I want...
in here script not recording as well as not give any error message. web page stay like stuck. want to close it press alt + f4.
if any idea please replay...

Are you using Java add-in?

is it come with qtp or want to install it..

If your company has purchased Java Add-In you will have it with your installation disk. Please check with the tools admin or appropriate person in your company who might have an answer.

do I want to install java add in in my PC (QTP has installed in my pc) or application server machine. it runs JBoss 4.0.3 sp1.

I just found about add in. now I installed quick test add in for quality center as well. after I went to the \QuickTest Professional\AddinsUpgrade folder and tried to install QTP90Java82UPGRADE.exe. but it gives an error message. in here I have attached it. please check and send me replay if u gave free time.
