When I use the Object Spy and take a look at the Mercury Tours web site, I just get:

This is what happen while I was going through QTP tutorial.

'm wondering if I have a setting wrong, or an incompatibility or if the tutorial is just broken.

Here's what I've seen:
1. When I use the Object Spy and take a look at the Mercury Tours web site, I just get:
Window : Windows Internet Explorer
-- WinObject : Internet Explorer_Server
Also, The tutorial goes on to say, "In the hierarchy box, notice that the object class and name are now displayed (WebEdit:userName)."

Is my setup weird or wrong?

2. Also, when I use Navigate and Learn to add objects from the Mercury Tours Web site Login page to a shared object repository,I only get Test objects as
-- Windows Internet Explorer
-- Edit
-- Edit_2
-- Edit_3

Where is all stuff that the tutorial says I should see?

3. When I try to open a new Browser or launch through QTP & click Record, nothing gets recorded. The Active screen is not the Browser in QTP.

I am using Vista 64Bit

Hi mrhoute,

that happens some time with me also, i thnk your using evaluation version, better solutions for that time to just restart your QTP i got solved my problem that time, better luck to you, sometimes there may be settings problem.

I did try that I even reinstall QTP 10 and still have the same problem.

Problem Solved.
I was using Internet Explorer 8 and I had to unchecked (Enable protected mode box)
That solved the problems.
Here are the steps in case some one needs help.

-Go to Internet Explorer Security Settings > Uncheck the checkbox (Enable protected mode box).
