Shrinivas -
The Answer is there in the Error Message.
What version of QTP was the test created on ?? Did you open the Test on QTP 9.5 and above ?

Hi,

Nope....actually don't have any idea, if anybody has opened it in QTP 9.5 or above.

But my question is, how can we open such test which has been modified or used by other person in any other version that we don't know.

--> Is there any method/code (for ex. Convert...) or any other mean we can open it in QTP 9.2?
--> is there any mean for ex: even like Edit that test in notpad/or anythirdpartytool and then used it as new qtp test. or.....anything that can be done???

OR for EX 2:
if an organization has QTP 9.5 and if now they want to again degrade it to QTP 9.2 (due to some problem). then how can we open & run the tests, which were created with higher (ie other) version or so?

Ankur: can you please guide?

Thanks

In general backward compatibility is not available in QTP. It means that a test created in the higher version can't be opened in the lower version.

In case your script was created in 9.5 and you now want to open it in 9.2, you're lucky. QTP 9.2 is the only version for which they have provided backward compatibility against 9.5.

Ask for the patch from HP support for downgrading 9.5 scripts to 9.2.
