Please make sure that
1. Application is open after QTP is opened
2. Check the required Addins and patches

I did check all the add-ins and patches. The application was opened after QTP was opened. It is still recording as Windows object.
Thanks

check the Automation-> Record and Run settings section and verify for the radio button selection done in both windows and web tab... under web tab select the "Record and run test on any open browser" and apply the setting. sometimes it does not work immediately so you need to close and reopen QTP then it will work.
let me know if it helps.

Windows 7 and IE 8 does not work with qtp you require qtp patch so that it accepts your environment. The patch is QTP_00644.EXE

Thanks. I had to open a ticket with HP and it turns out Sprinter was causing the issue. Had to re-install QTP. It works ok now.
