QTP hangs at runtime

Hi ,
I am new to using QTP. I have v 9.2 and IE7 on windows vista home premium.

My problem is when I record any simple script - either on a windows application or a web browser the script is recorded but when I try to run it, the app is launched and then it does nothing.

Basically, It is not playing back and hangs indefinitely. And the status says "Running" the entire time.
I do not get any error messages either.

Finally I have to end the QTP process from the task manager.

I am really frustrated and need help.
If anyone has any ideas/thoughts, please share.

Thanks for your reply.

When I was looking for the results folder, I do not find it where it's supposed to be. I mean C:/users/username/AppData/....
After I go under username, I cannot find AppData. Is that the problem? Isn't that folder supposed to be created during installation?
