QTP file pinging from perticular path

Hi Friends, I am very new to QTP. I am trying to make automate some test cases in my application.

The scenario is like this , we have couple of XMl which are needed to be automated, for example, I have 2 XML say XML-A and XML-B, XML-A having some elements which are common with XML-B, and the remaining elements are not common, if I want to parameterize the not-common elements ,then those not-common elements are not required for the XML-B and throgh the error. So I am unable to parameterize them.So I am forced to take 2 XMLs and automate them . For mere 2 lines , Iam recording all the XML and using that.So any body can suggest me any idea , how to make those XMLs parameterized.
