QTP 11 not recognizing IE8 in win 7

Hello friends,

I've just installed QTP11 on my new Win 7 machine. Earlier, it was IE9 in the same machine which comes preloaded with Win 7. After removing it, i thought IE will start get recognizing but QTP is still not recognizing the same. have tried opening IE before and after QTP start but of no use.

What is the issue here or i'm missing something ???

Hi,

just an update, i've also tried the ways like right click on QTP and running as Admin or calling IE from systemUtil.Run ( from inside qtp ) but result is same.

Also, it's also not recognizing FF 3.5.5

Is there anything which i've missed. I've also tried the windows restart in hope of something which is universally unknown but for no result as usual

Try disabling protected mode in IE.

Hello all,
I'm facing similar issue with QTP 11 and IE8. While QTP is open and when accessing links without www in its URL it causing problems such as pop-up message "Internet Explorer has stopped working". When trying to record, QTP hangs aswell as page QTP is trying to open.
Disabling protected mode in IE didn't help in my case.
