Suppose there are 5 TC_IDs with 'Y' flag. While iterating through the 1st one, there was an error which actually stops the application to get launched. You have used Recovery scenario to overcome the situation. If the application fails to launch for the 1st TC_ID, the same will happen for rest of all. How will you stop the iteration in Test Control sheet, when you know rest all are going to face the same issue?

if you are reading the test case execution flag dynamically, then you can update the dependent/similar test cases flag to "N" - so that the similar/dependent test cases won't execute.
