How to eliminate unwanted data

I have to capture only the value but i can see some unwanted data .. please help me on this..

val = $13.97N/A

i want output to be displayed as $13.97

for eg: if $133.96N/A even in this case it should hold gud...someone please help me in this regard.

Is it N/A which occurs everywhere? or you are suggesting that there could be anything after the number?

If it is N/A then you can do a mere split by using the delimiter as N. Also if it is due to extra space or unwanted charachters then use the Trim.
