When we record the web page, if we click on the link which has a pair of brackets (for example: "Text (VIP) from Distance”), the recorded link is an uncompleted link such as "Tex 100 (VIP) ". Of course we will get an error message when we re-run it. It is still not working even if we manually change the link to right one in expert view. But, when we manually click on the link, the link works fine.

You should be worried about the object name registered in Object Repository not the recorded one in expert view.
It's probably because there is some dynamic value which is there and causing trouble. if that is really the case, use Regular expressions.
