Accessing QTP remotely
#1
Solved: 11 Years, 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago At
I have the application to be tested installed on my local system. I want to install QTP on a server in my intranet and test the application by accessing QTP from the sever. Is it possible. Is any extra tool needed for this functionality?
Note:
1- A server in my network runs QTP.
2-A computer with the application to be tested accesses QTP installed on the server to test the application.
3-The server does not have the the application to be tested installed on it.

Nope, QTP is a standalone application, You must have installed QTP on the machine you want to run the test. You will never be open an application which is not installed on your machine and is installed on a network machine. In the same way you must have application installed on the machine on which QTP is running tests, unless it is a web application.
