I would like to use Excel sheet for entering input to QTP?

I would also like to use SQL to extract the right info from the excel sheet? I have been try to work on this for long.
not sure what you mean by this as SQL is a query language which is used to query and retrieve data from DB's like Oracle, MS Access etc
I would like to know how to use OR effectively.I have always done Descriptive scripting only.
Kindly help me on this with effective examples.
