we RDP into a physical workstations with the test apps/pages and QTP 9.5 loaded via Citrix. This seems to be the only way to make it work reliably. Trying to use Virtual machines or VDI is nothing but heartache. Sometimes it works and other times I scratch my head for 6 hours trying to figure out why it isn't working only to have it start working eventually. This might be an issue with our outdated applications instead of QTP, but I can only relay my experiences. I haven't been doing QTP testing very long and I inherited the entire Staging/Test bed as is, so that could be an issue as well.
