QTP 9.5 not recording Flex 3 application

Hi All,

I am new to both QTP and Flex. I have followed all of the instructions on the requirements for the Flex Add-in for QTP.

When I use the Object Spy, it correctly identifies the Flex Objects, however if I try to use Navigate and Learn or try to record a test script it does not recognize any of the Flex objects.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Jen,
Try doing the descriptive programming method. I guess it will work, because the objects are identified in object spy.
And also, start QTP first and then the application.

Hi

I am not quite sure how descriptive programming will fix this. Is it really possible to use that to write scripts for an extremely robust application? Also I tried starting QTP first and this did not help. I did notice however that if I only use the Flex Add-in and no others it will record, but it does not seem right as it is looking for a windows application. Also play back is extremely slow. Should I be able to use the Web addin along with the Flex Add in?

Also how can I use descriptive programming to create test scripts?
