Does anyone use QTP to test Web Services?
#1
Solved: 11 Years, 4 Months, 1 Week ago
I am running into a problem. I have not been able to test any of my company's web services because I always get an error message such as...

"The Send operation call failed.
The .NET Framework 1.1 WSE 2.0 toolkit returned the following error:
Soap error:
Message: Server was unable to process request. ---> The method or operation is not implemented."

when trying to initially run the first test.
One of my developers pointed out that the web services were created using the .NET Framework 2.0, not 1.1.

Is there a 2.0 upgrade that I can download somewhere? I'm not exactly sure if this is my problem but it is definitely a good start. My support contract expired so I cannot search the knowledge base.

Can anyone please help me?

Web Services add-in 9.0 supports

# Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 WSE 2.0 Service Pack 3
# Apache Axis 1.2.1 and 1.3

while Web Services add-in 9.1 supports

# Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 WSE 2.0 Service Pack 3
# Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 WSE 3.0
# Apache Axis 1.x (Apache Axis 1.4 installed with the Web Services Add-in)

So check out that you have Service Pack3 with WSE2.0 .
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Ankur.

It looks like I need QTP 9.1 or 9.2 with the corresponding Web Services Add-in.

Sorry I'm new to QTP but do you know if I can upgrade to 9.1 or 9.2 using my existing license or do I have to have a valid support contract?

I've been trying to get support from HP because my company said the support contract should still be valid but HP seems worthless right now. I tried installing the trial version of Web Services 9.2 Add in but it said it would not install with my 9.0 version of QTP. I couldn't even find the SP3 download on the website.

Which version of QTP u are using? QTP9.5 supports .Net tool kit for Webservices .netFramework 1.1 for WSE2.0 and
Webservices .netFramework 2.0 for WSE3.0
so goto File-> Settings ->Webservices->
Change Toolkit options to
Webservices .netFramework 2.0 for WSE3.0
this should help you out from problem.

Thanks,
