Could you tell me about broken link?

Hi,

I am using QTP 8.0 version. I want to prepare a script for broken link identification in my application. Please tell me? Before that i want to say something about my old script. I prepared one script, in which i put a page level checkpoint for broken link identification. I ran the script but the script is not identify the broken link when the application have a page cannot be found and HTTP 404 error page. It is displayed as a "Not Checked" in the Test Result. As per my understanding "if the application is displayed the page cannot be found or HTTP 404 error page this is called as broken link" please correct me if i am wrong. Please tell me how to identify a broken link in my application?

It seems you have not unchecked the option "Broken Links- check only links to current host" under Tools > Options > Web.
