Hi

I need to test web application using QTP10.0. I have added Java add-in as the application was developed in Java environment.

1.Do I need to add other default (VB, Web and Active X) add-ins also?
2.How do I know what add-ins should i add?
3.When should I add VB, Web and ActiveX controls?
4.How do I know which are activeX controls and which are web controls and which are VB controls in the application?
5.The application that I am testing is a web-based application developed in Java, so in “Record and Run settings” which tab should I select? Java or Web?

Thanks,
Venkat

For the first question you should add "web" as a default... that will not have any effect...
For the second question it again depends the application in which technology it was developed you should add that particular add-in, that will solve....
For the third question, you should select VB addin if working with windows based application, web addin if working with web based application....
For the fourth question you should communicate with your developer and lead and know on which platform the application is developed..
for the fifth question, you have to select JAVA.
