axExplorerBar won't visualize

I have a non-web test application that uses the axExplorerBar ActiveX Control. When this is run outside of QTP I have no problems. When it is run within QTP, the control won't visualize. In other words - I can't see it. The SPY can't see it.

When I run the application outside of QTP, and then use the SPY, QTP shows it as an ActiveX: axExplorerBar Class with a nativeclass as axExplorerBarCtrl.

Anyone out there have ANY idea why this control won't visualize when I'm in QTP??
