activex automation programmatically

hi all,
I want to programmatically invoke an activex object. The code should invoke the object at runtime. Basically I want to identify the object based on its properties and not the coordinates. can anybody provide a sample code since i m new to qtp.my code should be able to access the properties of the object at runtime so that it is independent of the machine and the screen.
