Testing Retail POS software

Hi,
I have a POS software (EXE) installed in my computer with windows 10.
It is a non cloud application.
I have UFT 14.03 installed on the same machine.
I'm reading all the tutorials that I can find, but no one tells me how to start.
Any help appreciated.

You would need to find out the tech in which the POS User Interface is coded. Then check whether the technology is supported by UFT.

For your reference,  UFT is concerned with front-end technology and not back-end like PHP, Python etc.

I have gone through the guides and googled for information regarding POS automation with UFT but no luck.
Could you please point me in the right direction as to how I can get started.
 

1. How do I connect to the POS Machine - UFT agent install on POS Machine/vnc/team viewer ?
   
2. Type of recording/scripting/method to learn objects.

UFT can be installed on Windows and Mac (with limited support), If your POS is installed on any of these two OS, you may do a Proof-Of-Concept with UFT.

My earlier advise to you still remains, please try to get in touch with the dev team to find out more about UI.
