Smart Identification
#1
Not Solved
Hi All,

I have a query pertaining Smart Identification.
I read the article on smart identification over the LearQtp website and thought of practicing it on Qtp
So I
1.Recorded a script to enter data in the username field of gmail.
2.I changed the value of name in the script and Object Repository from Email to mail(Simulating the scenario of the recorded property value being different then the one in the application)
3.I went to the Object Identification Window -> enabled the Enable smart identification checkbox and clicked on configure.

Scenario 1:
I kept the HTML tag and Type as Base Filter Properties and the name as optional filter property

Scenario 2:
I kept the HTML Tag as the Base Filter property and name, type as optional filter properties.

In both the above scenarios the object identification failed.

I would like to know
a) What happens when none of the optional filter properties meet and only the base filter properties meet.
b)What was the reason for failing of object identification in scenario 2 when the type optional filter property was matching..

Thanks,
Pooja
