Recording an object Un Identified by Object SPY

Hello All,
This is my first post into the forum.
I am having a page in an application which has 2 buttons on a List. While using object Spy, QTP is recognizing the list as WinList and is NOT recognizing the buttons.
Is there any way, I can make QTP recognize them?
Am trying to use some keyboard inputs too..
Any suggestions are welcome.

Are they(buttons) custom controls embedded ?

you can use the co-ordinates approach but that would be the least preffered one if you have no other solution.

Ya if its not recognizing the objects then use a concept called Virtual buttons. This should help
