Does we require knowledge of OOPS for recognizign the objects through QTP

I am able to recognise the objects using QTP (spy). I dont have any OOPS knowledge as such I dont know whether I am using oops concepts without knowing while identifying the objects.

We can even recoginse the objects using descriptive programming without any SPY.
