QTP Not recording in ajax table grids

I have been tasked with teaching others in the dept how to record test cases and pass them to me for descriptive 'cleanup' for regression testing.

This morning I discovered that qtp is not recording any events [data entry] inside of table grids we employ on our pages in the AUT.

These grids are ajax grids.

Has anyone out there had the same experience?

qtp correctly records mouse events [ie click] but does not capture data entry. It does so with WebEdits out side of these grids.

Any feedback would be much welcome.
