QTP Error: Browser application can't be launched

Hello,
I am having trouble getting QTP to record against a web browser. When I click on the Record button, and change the settings to open a web page in a browser, QTP cannot get hooks into the Browser to record the actions.

Now, the Browser does launch automatically, however, it appears in the background. QTP is not recording at this point. If I close the browser, I get an error message from QTP which reads; "The Browser Application cannot be launched. Possibly, the URL is wrong."
After I click this dialog box, QTP begins recording, but there is no browser open.
I am using VISA OS

please help me in resolving this

As the error message says - Check the url you have provided at record and run settings

also make sure you dont have any browser open
Now click on record button, lets see if it works now.

I have entered the correct URL but still i am getting same error "The Browser Application cannot be launched. Possibly, the URL is wrong."
No Luck..

I am Using Window Vista OS.

are you able to record on any opened browser? I mean set option 'Record and run test on any open browser' at record and run setting.
if not then can you check UAC if OFF and BHOManager is enabled on your machine.

Hi,
This error is particularly observed when you are using Vista.I am not sure if you get this error on other OS too.
To resolve this, uncheck the User Account Control (UAC) settings or turn them off.This will require a system restart once you turn them off.

What Other Solution ?? Are you looking for a workaround ?? If yes, change your OS.

I have browser/QTP issue, I have installed QTP 11 on Windows 2008 r2 server 64 bit. I am trying run a test using web (url). when I run the url on IE9 independently it runs fine, but when I am running from QTP it open the browser but won't show the screen and pops up a window. I don't have any ActiveX add-on nor the silver light. I have attached the image and below is the error I get.
