QTP 11 setup installation problem.

Hi All,

I downloaded "HP Functional Testing 11.00 Evaluation" setup from HP website. Now, I am unable to install it on my system with configuration of 3 GB RAM and windows 7 Professional OS. Installation process quit in middle without any error message.

Steps, I follow to install:
1) I run "\\Software_QTP_11.0_English_T6510_15066\setup.exe".
2) It opens a starting window. I click on "QuickTest Professional Setup" link.
3) Then I clicked on "Run" on security warning window.
4) It opens a command prompt for a while and then my setup terminates forever without any error message.

Please tell me a way to install this software.

Hi,

Got same problame, had downloaded new QTP11.0 installer from HP site(size=3.6 GB) then problem gets resolved.

In Windows7 you occasionally have to run the setup as administrator. Right click on the installer file and select "run as administrator". As your login you may not have rights to modify files\folders in Program Files or Windows directories.

If you can not "run as administrator" or alter your permissions on the folders, the next best option would be to use a folder you have full rights to, like Public, or make a folder on the root of the drive and use that to install (c:\programs). Be sure you have full rights to this new folder.

I am facing the same issue. After i select the 'QuickTest Professional Setup' in the Installation menu options nothing happens(exception being the first time when i tried this, explained below).

Environment: Windows 7 / admin login.

When i tried the setup the first time, options displayed where 'change/repair HP QTP', 'Fresh QTP installation' & 'Cancel'. I choose 'Fresh QTP Installation' but nothing happened thereafter.

Do you know if there is a registry setting that needs to be manipulated? I didn't find any messages in the event log either.

Has anyone found a solution this issue ?

I am on xp, - run setup.exe - installer screen appears - i select Quick test professional setup as option - screen disappears and nothing happens thenafter..

I'm facing the same problem with windows 2003 server.

1) Clicked on setup.exe
2) Installation wizard opens
3) clicked on 'QuickTest Professional Setup'
4) A black screen (command prompt screen) opens and every thing is closed in a second.
5) Setup was terminated without starting.

same problem with qtp 10.0 and qtp 11.0 same thing is happening,
unable to find solution in 6 days.

I m a beginer & Having trouble in installing QTP 11.0
No background bmp defined in section "General" entry in " BGBmp"
when i double click in setup.exe.
i m installing on windows 7 32 bit.
can somebody help me with this.
