hello all...noob to forum...
I'm hoping to find a lifeline here on what should seemingly be a simple issue. We're testing a web app that dynamically creates link text in a series of anchor tags. However, we have a constant, unique naming convention applied to these anchor tags in their respective NAME attributes.
I've attempted through "tools --> object identification" to set naming for links to rely on name...with no luck. When recording scripts, we still see the link objects hitting the object repository named via the displayed text for the anchor tag.
Since the supporting data used to generate link text will change between development and QA layers, we absolutely need these objects to be identified via their tag's NAME attribute (the constant value).
How do I set up QTP to support this?
