HI All,

Now we are moving from win XP to Win7 OS. Whatever scripts we created on WInXp, will all work on Win7 64 bits OS?

How are your scripts OS dependent? They are QTP version dependent?

Aint they?

Here it is, scripts are QTP dependent and not OS dependent. QTP as such a tool is OS dependent. If you are in a situation where your script doesnt work it should be that QTP wont work.

Enough with the twitterSmile . Yes qtp works on win7 64 bit.

I think there is some difference between QTP 10 and QTP 9.5 . The scripts written in a higher version may not work in lower version of QTP. Hope that helps !

There is potentially differences in the way objects are recognized between XP and W7.

There certainly will be performance issues and different lengths of wait between the two machines. So it depends on how robust your delay timings are. If you have used dynamic waits then you should be ok.

W7 probably uses a different IE than XP unless you updated the XP version.

There are changes in the registry for 64 bit.

There may be a plug in needed for W7 for QTP 10?

The program files path might change

The documents and setting folder path will change.

To sum up there are differences between XP and W7 64bit that will need to be addressed in your scripts.
