We are using what is given below:
1. Windows 7 32-bit
2. QTP 11 trial version
3. IE8
Browser is getting identified as Window.
Please let me know the Patch I should install or if needed any change in system configuration. Please suggest.

Check the status of BHOManager addon in your IE8 - it should be enabled.
If you could not enable this, the simple solution is - install IE9 patch (bit strange but sure it will resolve the issue)

you might need to restart your QTP and browser. start browser after qtp. or open browser running script once.

Check your proxy settings whether it is set properly. Also try to add your URL in Trusted Sites in IE security settings.

There is patch of QTP 11 to allow IE8 to record and run web applications. Install the patch and it will solve you problem

I disabled the protected mode in Internet options and it is working fine now.
