How to check the enability property of tab in a web page, which one is selected by default, no of tab in web page etc.

Take the example of www.naukri.com where the are some tabs like Home(with home symbol), search job,post resume, jobseekers login etc, where the 'home' tab is selected by default. when it is selected it is entitled as webelement, but when not selected, it is entitled as Link. so can any write a DescProgrm script to identify the Tab
