How does QTP recognises Content Controls in Word Document?

Word 2007 provide Content controls,which can be later mapped to some field in the Database to populate values. These content controls could be placed by enabling the Developer Addin(on the Ribbon) and clicking on Text field. i.e. Alt 'L' + 'E'. Using this Hotkey method,I could place this content control, but QTP doesnot recognise these controls are enabled or not. Can anyone try out and get me the solution, that would be of great use.
