HR Dashboard

I recently joined a company where I am working as an analyst on a web based tool called dashboard. It provides useful human capital information which is used by HR. The dashboard content are mostly graphs and grid data .... and filter panels which allow to set some parameters.

We get monthly release here and every time build is released, regression is performed manually.

In your view, can I automate the testing of dashboard. I will be testing stuff such as if graphs are run and verifying graph values againts database... and verifying grid data numbers against database. Also to check if filters are working fine.

Do you think this kind of testing can be automated using QTP?

yes you can do it just put the qtp in record mode and open the dashboard application and do the operations what do you want to do daily and stop the recording qtp and press the play icon to run the qtp. QTP Supports only internet explorer for better results use IE 6.0
