Capture hidden automatic number from database via QTP

Need input for the following question.

On click of a button my application generates an automatic number and stores it on a specific field on the database . Multiple users can use this app and hence there there are many numbers stored on this field on the database.

Question - Via qtp I want to capture this number i created and map it to the test results. this would help me in in knowing the unique number that was created during automatic testing.

Please let us know what else r there remaning fields present in the database, usually u can track these type of values using your login id of your application or the system ipaddress or system name
