Automation Framework
#1
Not Solved
Hi

I had a query regarding the Automation framework.

Suppose there is one client and he comes up to you that he has 10000 test cases which he wants to get automated from you in minimum time.

How or what will be the approach I should take before picking up any automation framework??What are the initial set ups or things we think before we pick up with the automation framework.

Can you please list in the sequential manner how our approach should be if you have to automate 10000 t.cases from the starting to the end.

Thanks

1) Check whether all the supported Environments of the application are supported by the Automation Tool
2) Check whether items are well identified, when compared to other tools. Try to spy objects for different screens in Different Automation tool and note down how many sample objects were identified and how many not identified for specified tool (Some tiresome work but benificial)
3) Check how the performance is for particular Tool on heavy load. (Example - in QTP object repository file of more than 50 MB performs slow)
