Accessing a DB
#1
Not Solved
Looking for the best place to start to learn how to setup QTP to pull some information from the DB.

Here is my scenario:

A user receives an email with a GUID that links the user to a specific document when they register on a website. I want to use my db access to pull the GUID and create the URL after the email is generated and sent. I have some of the steps in place already for creating the email and other parts of this test. I have the DB query and I can use my credentials to access the db. Or, does QTP need a separate account?

I was planning on looking at QTP help - on monday when I am back in the office, but I thought I would check with the folks here. Everything I have read has given me some great suggestions. So, where should I start and anything I should watch out for?

Thanks!

Jamie
